2) Is there a minimum amount of annual holiday entitlement?

Under the Working Time Regulations 1998 employees are entitled to a statutory minimum of 4.8 weeks of paid annual leave per year (24 days for an employee who works 5 days a week). This will increase to 5.6 weeks (28 days for an employee who works 5 days a week) from 1st April 2009. The leave entitlement under the Regulations is not additional to bank holidays.

Some employees may have a contractual entitlement to receive more than the minimum amount of statutory annual leave specified in the Regulations.
