1) Must we provide a contract of employment? |
Whilst there is no statutory requirement to have a written contract of employment, employers are obliged to provide certain minimum written particulars of the terms and conditions of employment where employment lasts for at least 1 month. The statement must be given to an employee within 2 calendar months of the start of employment. It is advisable to have written contracts of employment in place and it is also very important for employers to have up to date employment documentation which complies with the changes that are regularly made to employment law. |
