We have recently been involved in the setting up of two Academies under the Education Act 2002, in particular the property arrangement, leases and transfers involving the Academy Trust.

Advised the trustees of the school on the incorporation as a company limited by guarantee and the transfer of the business and assets of the school from the trust to the new incorporated entity.

Advised the governors of a maintained school in connection with the right to borrow for commercial purposes under the Education Act and under EU procurement rules and the consequences of failing to do so.
