Jenny Cutts

Partner, Private Client

Private Client solicitor Jenny qualified in 2000. She joined Cumberland Ellis from Hyde Mahon Bridges when they merged this year and previously worked for Freethcartwright LLP. 
 
Jenny deals with a wide variety of private client advice ranging from inheritance tax planning, probate and trust work for high net worth clients to advice and on matters involving the Office of Public Guardian. 
 
Recent cases that Jenny has been involved in include:

  • preparing wills for married couples to utilise both their inheritance tax free allowances. Advising clients on how to use their wills to mitigate their inheritance tax liability and steps to take during their lifetime;
  • advising on the effect that non UK domicile will have on the provisions of a will and tax liability;
  • dealing with the administration and winding up of trusts including advising the trustees on the extent and use of their powers and the tax consequences of their decisions throughout the trust's lifetime;
  • advising on the creation of sub-trusts to protect vulnerable beneficiaries and mitigate the trust's capital gains tax liability; and
  • registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney, preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney and application to the Office of Public Guardian and Court of Protection. Dealing with all advice on the parties' rights and obligations and the management of a person's affairs generally.

Jenny is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Jenny's hobbies include sailing, climbing and all things Italian.
