Adam Edwards
Partner, Commercial
Commercial solicitor Adam graduated from Southampton University in 1991 with a degree in philosophy and then worked for a number of years as a computer consultant. He joined us as a trainee in 1996 and on qualifying in 1998, he joined our Company Commercial Department. Adam heads up the Commercial Group and from June 2011 was appointed as the firm's Managing Partner.
Adam advises on a broad range of company and commercial matters with particular specialisation in mergers and acquisitions, partnership law including limited liability partnerships, corporate structures, shareholder disputes, computer and e-commerce law and the protection and enforcement of IP rights. Adam regularly acts for owner-managed businesses based in the UK, the US and Europe, who operate across a broad range of sectors including financial services, insurance, sports, IT, technology and the internet. He is a member of the Society for Computers and Law.
Somewhat unusually, Adam also fulfils the role of Partner in charge of IT at the firm, and has overall responsibility for specification, development and maintenance of the firm's information technology. He lectures and runs work shops on topics such as data protection, and is frequently quoted in specialist and National press on IT issues. He also acts as Finance Partner.
Adam enjoys sport generally and skiing in particular. He completed the London Marathon in April 2002. He confesses to being a poor oboist and a slightly better photographer.
