Elizabeth English

Associate, Private Client

Elizabeth studied law at University College London and qualified as a solicitor in 2002. She joined Cumberland Ellis from Hyde Mahon Bridges after they merged in May 2008.

Elizabeth deals with a broad range of private client work including wills & probate, trust administration and elderly client matters.

Recent matters that Elizabeth has been involved with include:

  • advising executors on inheritance tax, appropriation of assets and deeds of variation of the estate for family and tax purposes;
  • consideration of heritage property issues to include liaising with charities and museums on bequests;
  • administration of trusts of all types including the exercise of trustees' powers, winding up of trusts and advising trustees and beneficiaries generally on related tax issues; and
  • advising elderly clients in relation to care home funding and local authority responsibilities, the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorneys, registering Enduring Powers of Attorney and application to the Office of Public Guardian and Court of Protection.

Elizabeth is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Elizabeth's interests include theatre, concerts, tennis and badminton.

STEP
