David Foster

Legal Executive

Litigation manager David qualified as a legal executive in 1975 and joined the firm's Litigation Department in May 2008 having previously worked for Hyde Mahon Bridges.

David's practice includes commercial litigation matters on behalf of individuals and companies both in the UK and abroad. David advises on insolvency matters, landlord and tenant issues, property disputes, contested probate and negligence proceedings against solicitors.

David's clients include a multi-national entertainment company, one of London's leading holders of commercial and private property, an international airline and a well-known actor, as well as private companies businesses and individuals. David also acts for one of the UK's leading law firms handling contested fee disputes. Recent cases include:

  • acting for the principal beneficiary in the London High Court in a contested probate matter resulting in a successful outcome and the release of a legacy in excess of £1,000,000;
  • bringing successful High Court proceedings against the advisors responsible for a defective will resulting in a successful settlement; and
  • challenging an unlawful eviction from commercial property and securing the tenant client's return to the property and the payment of damages and costs by the trade union landlord concerned.

For relaxation, David enjoys DIY, reading, current affairs and travel, particularly to relatives in New Zealand and the Canary Islands.
