6) Extended powers in relation to awards in claims for unlawful deduction and redundancy payments

Tribunals' powers will be extended so that they can award compensation for any financial loss suffered in consequence of the failure to make certain payments due to employees. This will apply in claims for unlawful deductions from wages or redundancy payments. It is likely that these powers will be used to address losses such as interest payments and bank charges.
